Privacy Policy

This privacy policy informs you about the processing of personal data in connection with the use of Baulens (the "Service"). It applies under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nFADP).

Data Processed

When you visit the website, technical data is automatically collected (IP address, browser type, access time, referrer URL). When you register, we collect your email address and a display name. If you take out a paid subscription, payment data is processed by the respective payment service provider; Baulens does not store full card details. To provide the Service, usage data (projects viewed, filters chosen) is also processed.

Purposes of Processing

The data collected serves to provide and improve the Service, process subscriptions, ensure the security of the platform, and fulfil legal obligations. No combination with other data sources takes place.

Cookies

Baulens uses technically necessary cookies, for example for login, session management, and language selection. These are required for the service to work and cannot be disabled. In addition, and only with your explicit consent, we use cookies for usage measurement. For this we use PostHog, hosted in the EU, to understand how the service is used and to improve the platform. Without consent, only cookieless, anonymous usage measurement takes place: nothing is stored on your device, your IP address is not retained, and page views are counted solely as a daily-rotating hash that cannot be traced back to you. Recognising you across days or linking the data to your person is therefore not possible. No advertising or retargeting cookies are used. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer.

Third Parties and Data Transfers Abroad

Technical service providers are used to operate the Service; this may involve disclosing personal data abroad. The following categories of service providers are used: • Hosting and infrastructure providers • Map service providers • Payment service providers (where a subscription is taken out) • Usage-measurement providers (only with consent, hosted in the EU) Disclosure may occur in particular to the USA and to EU Member States. Disclosure to countries without an equivalent level of data protection takes place on the basis of appropriate safeguards (in particular standard contractual clauses) pursuant to Art. 16 nFADP. On written request, the operator will disclose the specific service providers used.

Email notifications (project updates)

Subscribers with a paid plan can optionally enable a bi-weekly email summary of newly recorded construction projects in their account. For this we process the email address, name, and the time of consent. Emails are sent via an email service provider (Resend); delivery and open data may be generated in the process. Consent can be withdrawn at any time in the account or via the unsubscribe link in every email.

Retention

Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention obligations. Once the purpose has ceased, the data is deleted or anonymised.

Your Rights

Under the nFADP, you have the right to access, rectification, deletion, and objection to the processing of your personal data. Please direct such requests to info@baulens.ch.

Changes

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy. The current version is published on this page.
